We take pride in the fact that our relationship with you doesn’t end when taking a puppy from us. As a conscientious breeder we’d like to believe nothing can ever go wrong with our puppies. However, certain things are beyond our control. A puppy’s health is dependent on a lot of factors, such as genetics, exercise, food, nutrition and overall care. If something does go wrong, we always strive to help.
Health Testing
We believe testing is a very important tool in breeding the healthiest dogs that we can. Testing is done prior to any breeding and if a dog doesn’t pass the testing requirements, we don’t use them in our breeding program.

Cavaliers - Tests done prior to breeding
DNA tests for DM (Degenerative Myelopathy), EFS (Episodic Falling Syndrome) and DE/CC (Dry Eye Curly Coat Syndrome).
OFA x-rays for hip dysplasia, and elbow dysplasia. Patellas are checked by a vet. These are all submitted to OFA for certification.
OFA eye certification done by ophthalmologist, and OFA heart certification done by a cardiologist. Since the tests are only valid for 1 year, we do both of these on a yearly basis.
Since some of the tests require the dog to be over the age of 2, we never breed our dogs under that age or before all their testing is done.
Rough Collies – Tests done prior to breeding
DNA tests for Cyclic Neutropenia, DM (Degenerative Myelopathy), Hyperuricosuria, MDR1 (Multidrug Resistance 1), PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) and DMS (Dermatomyositis).
OFA x-rays for hip dysplasia, and elbow dysplasia. These are all submitted to OFA for certification.
All of our breeding dogs have had their eyes tested for CEA and all puppies will have their eye tests done prior to going to their new home.
Since some of the tests require the dog to be over the age of 2, we never breed our dogs under that age or before all their testing is done.

Our Health Guarantee
We do not believe your puppy is replaceable, we will never force you to return your puppy as part of the health guarantee. We stand by our health guarantee and don’t believe any breeder should force an owner to choose between forfeiting their health guarantee or giving up their dog if a health issue arises. We do provide a 2 year guarantee against genetic diseases that affect the longevity or quality of life of the dog. Your puppy will go home with a copy of their eye test, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip and our health guarantee that details the genetic diseases covered. Registration papers will be provided within 6 months of receiving your puppy.
